Welcome to The Taunton Academy, a new learning community for 11 to 19 year-olds in North Taunton. We are committed to providing a wide range of opportunities to ensure all our students make the most of their learning and participate fully in the Academy and community life.

 As a Church of England Academy, we welcome young people and their families of all faiths and none. Our ethos is firmly rooted in Christian values that emphasise respect for oneself and others.

The Academy opens in September 2010 and will develop to cater for 1,150 11 to 16 year-olds, with a further 100 places in Years 12 and 13. There is a wide choice of academic and vocational routes for students taught by a dedicated teaching team in excellent facilities with cutting-edge IT.

Our inspiring specialisms of Science (with a focus on Health Science) and Sustainability offer students a wide variety of pathways into higher education and work, and our excellent range of educational and business partners will help us deliver these specialisms. Students also have the opportunity to take part in after-school activities that develop their interests and to have mentoring time with an adult champion.

As well as serving the needs of students and staff, the Academy will offer the local community a wide range of services, facilities, lifelong learning opportunities and leisure activities.
